Don't be afraid of problems with the hot runner system, simple problems are complete


Problem: Cavity not filled


Reasons: The melting temperature is too low; the injection pressure is too small; the gate is too small; the hot nozzle is too small; the mold temperature is too low; the nozzle opening of the melt cylinder is too small; the hot nozzle is blocked.


Treatment: Increase the temperature of the hot nozzle and manifold, increase the injection pressure, expand the gate, increase the mold temperature, install a large-sized hot nozzle, increase the outlet of the melt tube, and remove the blockage.


Problem: Hot Nozzle Casting


Causes: Insufficient retraction (reverse cable), too high melting temperature, too large gate, insufficient gate cooling, incorrect thermal nozzle type selected.


Treatment: Increase the amount of retraction (reverse cable), reduce the temperature of the hot nozzle or the mold, select a suitable nozzle, and process the correct gate size.


Problem: The hot nozzle does not work correctly


Reasons: There is a problem with the heating wire or thermocouple, the thermal nozzle is blocked, and the expansion of the thermal nozzle is not calculated correctly.


Treatment: Check/replace the heating wire, check/replace the thermocouple, clean the hot nozzle, recalculate and process the expansion of the hot nozzle.


Problem: Poor color change effect


Cause: The color operation program is incorrect, and the thermal nozzle type is incorrect.


Solution: For the color change operation procedure, refer to the operation guide, and correctly select the type of hot nozzle.


Problem: There is a lot of flash on the product


Reasons: The injection pressure is too high, the temperature is too high, the leveling quality of the split template is poor, and the clamping force is insufficient.


Treatment: Reduce injection pressure, reduce hot nozzle/sub-plate/mold temperature, increase clamping force.


Problem: Scorch marks on the part or in the gate area


Reasons: Insufficient exhaust on the mold, too fast injection speed, incorrect size of the gate socket, insufficient drying of the material.


Treatment: Increase exhaust, decrease injection speed, increase "J" dimension on mouth socket size, dry material.


Problem: Gate cooling too early or starting to solidify in the middle of the cycle


Reasons: The melt temperature is not enough, the gate is too small, the gate is cooled too much, the direct contact area between the hot nozzle and the fixed mold is too large, the gate profile is incorrect or the type is incorrect.


Treatment: Increase the temperature of the hot nozzle, increase the temperature of the mold in the gate area, check the mouth of the hot nozzle to ensure that the direct contact area is minimized, check the gate profile processing, and correct the gate profile if necessary.


Problem: Moiré appears at the corresponding part of the product


Reason: The mold is too cold and the melt temperature is not enough.


Treatment: Increase the mold temperature and increase the melt temperature.


Problem: Occasional spots of cold material extruding from the tip of the nozzle core


Cause: Excessive heat loss from the hot nozzle head


Treatment: Reduce the direct contact area of the head to a minimum.


Problem: There is plastic stuck to the front of the bushing tip and straight tip


Reason: The contact area between the nozzle head of the bushing and the mold is not enough, and the heat dissipation is not enough.


Treatment: Increase the contact area and enhance the heat dissipation effect.



Problem: The thermal manifold does not reach the set temperature


Reasons: The thermocouple is in poor contact or failure, the heating wire is disconnected, and the heating wire connection is too loose or too short.


Treatment: Check whether the thermocouple contact is normal and whether the wiring is correct. Check the heating wire circuit.



Problem: The thermal manifold heats up too slowly


Reasons: One of the heating wires is open circuit or the wiring is too loose, insufficient air gap in the thermal manifold, excessive cooling on the heat insulating gasket, and poor contact of the thermocouple.


Treatment: Check all heating wires, increase the air gap, at least 10mm is required, or use a heat shield, increase the heat shield on the fixed mold fixed plate (bottom plate) or reduce the cooling of the lower fixed mold fixed plate, check the thermocouple Is it good.


Problem: Thermal Manifold Temperature Unstable


Cause: Bad thermocouple contact.


Remedy: Check thermocouple.



Problem: Metal fragments in the melt


Causes: Fragments on the screw of the injection molding machine, metal fragments in the injection molding material


Treatment: Remove metal fragments and repair impurities in screw filter plastic.



Problem: Material leakage on the joint surface of the thermal manifold and the thermal nozzle


Reasons: The calculation of the expansion is wrong, the processing height of the W surface is inconsistent, the material of the fixed plate (bottom plate) is too soft, the temperature of the heat splitter plate is too high for a short time, and there is a problem with the installation of the "O" seal.


Treatment: Recalculate and check the expansion, check and correct the height of the W surface, replace the fixed mold fixed plate (bottom plate) with appropriate hardness, replace the damaged parts and "O" type sealing ring


Problem: Hot Manifold Compensation Plugs


Reason: No spacers.


Remedy: Install spacers.


Problem: The oil (air) cylinder does not work


Reasons: No air/hydraulic oil enters the cylinder body, the pneumatic/hydraulic cylinder system is stuck, and the system pressure is insufficient.


Treatment: Check the pipeline and pump for leakage and blockage, check the cooperation between the cylinder body and the piston, and check whether the feed pipeline is excessively bent, and whether the piston and valve needle are flexible.



Problem: Cylinder system is seized


Reason: The cylinder body, heat splitter plate, hot nozzle, etc. are not concentric, and the fixed mold fixed plate (bottom plate) accumulates too much heat.


Treatment: Adjust the concentricity of the cylinder block, splitter plate, and hot nozzle to increase cooling around the cylinder block.



Problem: Cylinder stuck after overheating


Reason: The cylinder body, heat splitter plate, hot nozzle, etc. are not concentric, and the fixed mold fixed plate (bottom plate) has too much heat accumulated. The gasket and the valve needle fixed nut cause friction.


Treatment: Adjust the concentricity of the cylinder block, heat splitter plate, hot nozzle, increase cooling around the cylinder block, adjust gasket and valve needle fixing nut


Problem: Adhesive leaking around valve pin bushing


Cause: The valve pin bushing on the thermal manifold is too loose.


Treatment: Check the diameter and height of the hot manifold hole, valve needle bushing.



Problem: Valve pin head sticking


Cause: Too much heat is not being dissipated on the valve pin.


Treatment: Reduce the temperature of the hot nozzle and gate, increase the cooling time.
